Seneca home fire occurred Saturday

A weekend fire burned a mobile home residence in Seneca.  Chief Richie Caudill says the fire occurred during the 5 o’clock hour Saturday afternoon at 506 Hunter Street.  A hospital ambulance and personnel responded and checked one resident.  Caudill says both the city police and fire departments investigated the fire, and that investigation continues this morning.

Sunday morning outage plagued area

A lot of times you don’t appreciate something, until you miss it.  That could well apply yesterday to Walhalla and West Union electric power customers who lost service between the hours of 2:30 and 8:45 am.  According to information received by 101.7/WGOG NEWS, the problem appeared to center on a transmission line on SC 11 near the 28 interchange.

A 50-year old Oconee County man has been arrested and charged in an investigation of stolen materials at a plastics business near Halfway Branch.
