Unknown male fatality at fire scene

Authorities say the body of an unknown male was found today at a fire scene in the Utica Community near Seneca. Coroner Karl Addis says the victim in the house fire at 6 Lonsdale Street is presumed to have been a homeless individual. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating.

Easley child was the auto accident fatality

A 12-year old girl is the latest auto accident fatality in Pickens County.  The coroner, Kandy Kelley, identified Kelsi L. Merck of Easley as the passenger who died of blunt force trauma in Saturday afternoon’s accident on SC 135 in the Dacusville Community.  One other person was hospitalized from the crash off an SUV into trees of the highway.
