North Carolina charity runs afoul of South Carolina rules

A North Carolina-based charity is in hot water with South Carolina authorities over required financial reports and compliance with the solicitation of charitable funds law. Mark Hammond, South Carolina secretary of state, today announced that the state’s Administrative Law Court has held Miracle House of Hope Ministries in contempt for violating an order that forbids the organization from soliciting funds in South Carolina. Seneca has been documented as one of 11 locations in the state in which the organization solicited money. A bench warrant also was issued for the arrest of its chief executive officer, Bruce Little. Secretary of State Hammond said it’s his hope that the contempt and bench warrant, as he put it, “will motivate Miracle House of Hope Ministries to come clean and let the people of South Carolina know what it is doing with their donations.” He requests the public to alert his office if they receive a solicitation from Miracle House of Hope.
