Talk in the southern end of Oconee County is the speed and quality of the re-surfacing of one of the more bumpier parts of highway 11.  A businessman at that end of the county over the weekend complimented King Asphalt, the contractor, for the job it’s doing, providing a new road surface north from the 11 interchange at I-85.

101.7/WGOG NEWS learned of an apparent hunting mishap on Saturday morning near Westminster.  In the vicinity of the Dr. John’s Road, one person is reported to have fallen from a tree stand.  A hunting source identified the injured individual as a bow deer hunter.
