Suicide awareness being raised at this hour

Oconee public schools are raising awareness this morning to a growing, but still an often hidden problem in society.  It’s that of suicide, and there were two speakers for a large event on the grounds of the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative headquarters in Oconee County.  The speakers for the “Hike for Hope” event are retired coach and educator Hal Dunlap.  Lynn and Hal Dunlap lost a son to suicide.  Featured event speaker is to be Scarlet Lewis.  Her son, Jessie, was killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School (Connecticut) tragedy.
