A solo hiker yesterday near Long Creek received quick assistance when he got mixed up on a trail near Long Creek’s Fall Creek Road.  Rescuers were able to pinpoint his location by the cell phone call he made for help.

Parts of South Highway 11 in the vicinity of I-85 in Oconee County remain a construction zone.  Road pavers there are reporting that some motorists are driving too fast in and around the work zone, so much that the contractor has requested and received traffic slow down assistance from the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.
