Pre-trial settlement in suit versus nursing home

Tenth Circuit Judge Scott Sprouse signed an order settling the case of an estate against a nursing home near Seneca.  It’s a pre-trial settlement in the 2019 case of Ruby Taylor, personal representative of the estate of Victor A. Taylor, versus SSC Seneca Operating Company, doing business as Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Sprouse’s order notes that the defendant agreed to pay $60 thousand to the plaintiff to settle all claims against the estate.  The settlement order further specifies, “Petitioner understands that this settlement is not an admission of liability or an admission of any of the facts or circumstances alleged in those cases, but simply an expeditious method of disposing of the matter without the expense and uncertainty of a trial.”
