Girl Scout in Anderson shows an environmental way

A Girl Scout in Anderson is showing her teachers and others there are ways to recover large amounts of waste of various kinds–recyclable, reusable, and compostable.  For her efforts, Zoe Willis was awarded a scholarship of $2,060 from the Arconic Foundation and Kappa Delta Foundation.  When Zoe entered high school, she focused on a project to address the root cause of the problem–the lack of environmental education.  She created a club of motivated environmentalist students and created a website with lesson plans for grades K-12.  Anderson County teachers have seen her lesson plans and some have implemented Zoe’s project.
