Trafficking in meth alleged in Utica

Law enforcement’s war on drugs continued Monday in Utica.  A traffic stop on Goddard Avenue resulted in the charge of trafficking in methamphetamine against a motorcycle operator, David Allen Abbott of E. Main Street.  According to the sheriff’s office, will a deputy requested driver’s license and motorcycle insurance information, 54-year old Abbott dropped a plastic bag to the ground.

Seneca to add beautification workers

No longer will Seneca outsource the job of grass-cutting and ground maintenance.  Scott Moulder, city administrator, told the mayor and council there are savings to be realized if the city discontinues grass-cutting private sector contracts and replace with an additional three beautification department employees. The new city employees will work under the direction of Eric Shuler, the city’s beautification director.
