Missing shade trees at Shaver

A Shaver complex user delivered a scolding to the Seneca City Council last night for the removal of 10 trees from the grounds of the main recreation complex off WS 4th Street.  Janet Figueroa asked questions of the city officials, including who cut the trees and why.  Although Figueroa said she understood the tree-cutting was done to expand recreation fields, she decried the loss of shade trees–especially since the Shaver area was decimated by tree loss in the 2020 EF3 tornado.  As is their custom, the mayor and council reacted with no comment as they use public comment sessions for listening only.
