The answer to why Seneca trees were cut

An explanation has been offered as to why 10 or more shade trees were removed from the grounds of the Shaver Recreation Complex at Seneca.  94.1 The Lake learned today from Rick Lacey, the recreation director, the trees became casualties after the department was faced with moving back outfield fences to accommodate the city’s hosting next year of a 12-and-under state tournament.  “That’s the reason,” said Lacey.  A Shaver user deplored the loss of the trees in a complaint aired at last night’s city council meeting.
