Safe and secure way to do the party’s business

Oconee Democrats will assemble next month for a convention with business to be done in advance of the primary and mid-term elections.  Their get together Saturday, March 12 will be–the words of the chairwoman–“a contactless convention via secure Zoom”.  Conventions are where party members choose officers.  It’s likely going forward there will be a change at the top office.  Current chair Jody Gaulin says he has asked fellow Democrats to help find a new chairperson.  In this election year, Gaulin said, South Carolina Democrats believe there are two officers that are critical–governor and U-S Senate.  There are a handful of county officers for which Democrats will try to field candidates to contest Republican nominees in November.
