Early voting dates

Voters in Oconee’s five towns and cities may vote early, ahead of the November 7 elections.  The office of Oconee Elections announces early voting will run Monday through Friday, October 23-27 at the office, 415 S. Pine Street, Walhalla.  Hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm.  If you’re going, remember to bring a photo ID.

Home fire near West Union

An overnight home fire near West Union is under investigation.  No one reported hurt at the Woodland Way address near highway 11.  The brick home was heavily damaged, according to one fire fighter with whom we spoke. Fire fighters on scene for about four hours. The report of the fire on Woodland Way near highway 11 came just past midnight.
