New railroad lights and crossing barriers have been put up near Seneca at the four-way stop intersection of the Wells Highway and the Shiloh Road.  It’s the hope of at least one Shiloh Road resident that the state DOT will follow up with a traffic light intersection, to enhance safety.

All Oconee County recycle centers, landfill and transfer station will be closed Tuesday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

A rising senior at Walhalla High School, Sadie Wright, has earned recognition from the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.  During a promotions ceremony for office personnel, Sadie was recognized for donating books to the Oconee Detention Center for inmates to read and enjoy.  Sheriff Crenshaw gave Sadie a sheriff’s office challenge coin and a certificate.
