July 4 weekend drowning

Act of benevolence by a Walhalla student

A rising senior at Walhalla High School, Sadie Wright, has earned recognition from the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.  During a promotions ceremony for office personnel, Sadie was recognized for donating books to the Oconee Detention Center for inmates to read and enjoy.  Sheriff Crenshaw gave Sadie a sheriff’s office challenge coin and a certificate.
