Search-rescue ends well

Two hikers who became separated on the Foothills Trail have been reunited and are OK, according to Scott Krein of Oconee Emergency Management.  A combined search/rescue today by personnel from both Oconee and Pickens counties succeeded.  Krein explains one hiker maintained cell service; the other lost it.

Walhalla grad aces the bar exam

A Walhalla High graduate, Ryan Kowalski, passed the latest exam administered by the South Carolina Bar Association.  It clears a path for him to practice law in South Carolina.  Kowalski did his undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina and enrolled in the Villanova Law School.  His parents, Paul and Maribeth, formerly of Seneca now of Beaufort.  His grandparents […]

Elderly woman killed in rural Oconee wreck
