Cold outside and inside

Part of the work day was a cold one yesterday for government offices in Walhalla and for other city customers of Duke Energy.  Crews went to work to restore electric power.  The mishap was blamed on a transformer fire and a tree on the line in the vicinity of Playground Road.

Water line break in Westminster

Part of Westminster’s North Avenue has been closed for a water line repair.  Police Chief Rory Jones quotes Allen Ridley of the water department as saying they expect to have North Avenue in the vicinity of Oak Street re-opened today. That section of the street was closed last night.

Bond lowered for child sex defendant

A Walhalla man left court yesterday in better shape than which he entered. Represented by attorney Suzanne Earle, defendant Brian Douglas Feole saw his bond lowered by $90 thousand dollars.
