“Code of Conduct”

Basketball is a popular offering by the Walhalla Recreation Department. There’s enough interest this winter to field 32 teams and 32 coaches. But sometimes tempers flare when loved ones and fans of the players disagree with those who officiate games. Now, with the blessing of the mayor and council, the recreation department will post a code of conduct. That code of conduct will instruct parents and others to refrain from complaining or trying to directly influence referees. Councilman David Underwood is one who thinks this is a good idea, and he has agreed to pay the costs of posting the code of conduct at the city’s basketball arenas.
