Special Olympics to benefit from Saturday event

Everyone is invited to an event tomorrow in Easley that’ll benefit Special Olympics South Carolina.  The highway patrol is involved in staging “Show at the Point” that’ll feature food, music, and door prizes from 10 to 2 at the 5 Point Church, 1039 Pendleton Street, Easley.  Tickets are $20 dollars.  All proceeds go to Special Olympics South Carolina.

Minor fire damage to a Salem home

Fire fighters quickly stopped a fire that caused minor damage to the outside of a home this afternoon at 261 W. Main Street in Salem.  Capt. Brady Norris of Emergency Services says five people–two adults and three children–are temporarily displaced, but they have found living arrangements this evening with other family members.

Two Westminster men remain behind bars in Georgia

Three South Carolinians, including two men from Westminster, remained jailed today in Georgia, charged with drugs and weapons possession.
