Fire fighters engaged a two-story home fire late last night at Mountain Rest.  They faced a fully-engulfed home fire around 11 on James Corner Drive.  No injuries were reported to the county fire dispatch.  The location remained a fire scene until 3:15 this morning.

Sirens blared throughout Walhalla.  Early last night a mini-van crashed into the deck of a home on Jaynes Street, according to the fire department.  No one was hurt, but there’s damage to the deck and a wooden ramp.

An unwelcome blue-green substance has again penetrated Pioneer Rural water, and the district board of directors this afternoon addressed a customer’s complaint about quality.  The board was told that to avert algae intrusion, Pioneer has begun re-purchasing water from Seneca and blending the Seneca water with its own treated water before distributing it to the district’s Oconee and Anderson customers.  […]
