On today’s DHEC report:  1,585 new confirmed COVID cases in South Carolina, 21 in Oconee County.  New deaths numbered 51, including an elderly Oconeean who died February 9 and a middle-aged Oconeean who died February 13. Of a total of 27,073 test results received, the latest South Carolina positivity is 8.7%.

In today’s South Carolina DHEC report:  1,451 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state.  Thirty-eight are in Oconee County.  Statewide there were 32 new confirmed deaths.  Of a total of nearly 21,500 test results received in the state, the positivity was 10%.

Two Oconee County residents have been jailed in Walhalla, after being held by Jackson County, North Carolina authorities.  All of this resulting from warrants issued in Georgia, a subsequent car chase February 2 on highway 11 which eventually ended in the North Carolina mountains.  The two incarcerated have been identified as Amy Denise Fleming of Westminster and Artis O’Neal Wright […]
