A kitchen fire late yesterday afternoon in Walhalla.  The fire department reported the fire was contained to one unit in the Standpointe Vista apartments, off SC 183/N. Catherine Street.  No one injured.  Fire fighters answered the call around 4:30 pm.

Parts of SC highway 11 were closed several hours Saturday night in Oconee County after a two-vehicle accident.  Officials say the wreck involved a car and a truck and occurred one-half mile n. of the Greer Road.  A medical helicopter was arranged for one of the drivers.

Clemson utility customers are experiencing discolored water, but the city says there are no health risks.  The problem is traced by the city’s water supplier to the chemical manganese, but the discolored water is said to be working its way through all of the systems supplied by the Anderson Regional Joint Water System.
