King Asphalt pavers at work in Oconee

Road pavers are at work today in the vicinity of the Oconee Regional Airport, applying a new coat of pavement to a section of the two-lane Shiloh Road.  Marty McKee of King Asphalt says crews are at work on the section of Shiloh—from the Airport Road to the property now home to a complex of university student housing.  Motorists are requested to ease off the gas pedal and be careful in and around the work zone.  King Asphalt has on its schedule in the next “couple of weeks” a long-awaited re-surfacing project in Walhalla.  That’s the one to run the length of S. Broad Street, from one side of SC 28 to the other.  It’s a 4-point-1 million job and, at times, will require work in sections of block-by-block and occasional detours.
