Seven separate matters of potential economic development

Seven individual matters of potential economic development in Oconee County will be dangled next week in front of the county council.  Discussion is planned in an executive session, following council’s regular meeting Tuesday night.  For now the projects are code-named the following descriptions:  Drift, Thread, Remy, Matlock, Ruby Slipper, Street Car, and West Clemson.

Man found in need of medical care — sheriff’s officers

The sheriff’s office is withholding specifics about an adult male for whom a medical helicopter was arranged yesterday morning in southern Oconee County.  The man’s injuries were first suspected to have been the result of a stabbing, but later the sheriff’s office called what happened an assault involving family members in the Earles Grove Community.  The incident remains under investigation. Traffic stop produces drug arrest in Walhalla

Today’s South Carolina COVID-19 numbers

In the latest 24-hour period, cases of COVID-19 in South Carolina numbered 307.  Five of the new cases are Oconee County residents.  Over a three-day period, the number of new cases statewide increased by about 150.  Across the state, the death toll from the virus increased by five people.
