Sirens sounded and emergency lights flashed around 8 o’clock last night near Seneca.  Chief Deputy Kevin Davis of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office said a male officer, on her way to answering a call, was involved in an accident at 123 and Keowee Trail.  There were no immediate details available.  

A homeowner used an extinguisher to stop a fire last night in the kitchen of his mobile home near Walhalla.  No one was hurt.  Capt. Will Bates of the Walhalla Fire Department said the fire occurred shortly after 6:30 pm in a doublewide mobile home on Woodland Drive near the Coffee Road.

South of the railroad in Seneca, the police say, they saw a man jump over a fence at Jones Avenue and S. Stribling Street.  That, the police say, led to the arrest of a 44-year old man on charges of peeping tom and disorderly conduct.  The police investigation of a Hunter Street incident took place Sunday.

A traffic stop by the Seneca police on Sunday netted two guns and what the police believe were about 435 grams of marijuana.  The police say two men were arrested.
