Prescribed burn today adjacent to lake

The Andrew Pickens Ranger District is looking to assist in a 135 acre prescribed burn adjoining Devils Fork State Park today. Objectives are for hazardous fuels reduction and to reintroduce fire into a fire dependent ecosystem. Smoke impacts should be short duration and minimal and tracking toward Pickens, SC. Smoke will be visible on Lake Jocassee.
