Stabbing investigated yesterday in Choehee Valley

A Tamassee man remains in jail today, after his bond
was denied by a judge, due to his arrest yesterday on charges of First Degree Burglary and
Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.
41 year old Jarvis Evan Bugg, of The Bear Boulevard, was booked into the Oconee County
Detention Center around 5:27pm February 26th
. Due to his denial of bond, Bugg will appear
before a Circuit Court Judge, at a later time, regarding his bond.
Deputies from the Uniform Patrol Bureau responded to an address on The Bear Boulevard,
which is located in Cheohee Valley, yesterday morning in regards to reports of a stabbing. A
deputy spoke with a victim, who stated that he had heard knocking on the door of his residence.
After the victim opened the door to his residence, Bugg allegedly entered the residence and assaulted the
victim. The victim received cuts to his face from an object that was in the possession of Bugg.
The victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment. Bugg had left the scene before
deputies arrived. Bugg was located later on Sunday at his home residence, which is also located
on The Bear Boulevard, and was taken into custody.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Due to the nature of the
crime, the Sheriff’s Office will not release the victim’s identity. Due to health privacy and safety
concerns, the Sheriff’s Office will also not release any information on the patient’s condition.
