Two zoning hearings are set to start at 6 tonight at Seneca City Hall. The board of appeals will hear the case of Susie Jones for property at 916 E-S 2nd Street and Brown Enterprises for properties at 728 and 804 S. Stribling Street.

Hundreds of South Carolina DOT employees from county departments to headquarters are spending today in a statewide highway litter clean-up. The DOT calls it the “Spring Spruce Up.” Motorists are requested to use caution today around the roadside workers and remember the slogan, “Let ‘em Work. Let ‘em Live.”

The wraps get taken off tonight in Seneca on the code-named “Project Dart.” So far, the Economic Alliance’s Richard Blackwell has referred to the project as “food and beverage.” The announcement is to be made at 5:30 at a Ramcat Alley restaurant.

Duke Energy’s Oconee Nuclear workforce recently presented checks to United Way agencies in the tri-county area. The Oconee United Way benefited by more than $34 thousand; Pickens County, by $27 thousand; and Anderson County, by nearly $11 thousand. Santee Cooper, the South Carolina Public Service Authority, has approved a $3 million loan to the Oconee Economic Alliance for a 50,000 thousand square foot building to help Oconee attract new business and jobs.
