Heavy fire toll in rural Oconee

A home fire, believed to have started in the kitchen, has taken a heavy property toll in rural Oconee. It was a late night fire in the Ebenezer Community, on Kelly Mill Road. No one hurt. American Red Cross called to provide assistance. Fire fighters were alerted at 11:20 and stayed at the scene two hours.

The booking report from the Oconee Detention Center shows eight charges against a 25-year old Oconeean, arrested last night by the county Sheriff’s Office.
