Wrong-way I-85 crash fatal to Jeep driver

A Naples, Florida man, Devin James Eastman, lost his life in a three-vehicle accident Monday morning on I-85 in Hart County, Georgia near the bridge and the South Carolina line.  He was 41 years old. WNEG Toccoa quotes Sgt. Ray Dean of the Georgia State Patrol as saying the accident took place around 4 am just past exit 177 when a wrong way driver entered the northbound lanes and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer.  According to the trooper, Eastman’s Jeep Cherokee was headed southbound in the left northbound I-85 lane when it struck an International tractor-trailer driven by Jonathan Max Cranfil of Mansfield, Georgia moving northbound in the left lane. The Jeep broke out into flames and debris hit a Kenworth tanker truck headed northbound.  The Jeep then crossed the northbound right lane and hit a guardrail, ejecting the driver.  The International tractor-trailer driver, Cranfill, was taken to AnMed in Anderson.  The tanker truck driver was unhurt.
