Women’s addiction treatment center in the works

“OARS” — the addiction recovery center that operates in the former Oconee jail — is expanding with plans for a women’s recovery facility.  Sheriff Crenshaw, a supporter of the program, says “OARS” has acquired a former home near Walhalla’s N. Catherine Street, and it’s there that the house will be remodeled to accommodate as many 100 women a year in need of help.  Addiction recovery services take 30 days for a client.
