With runway closed, state official’s plane diverts

The plane flying the state Attorney’s General for an Oconee County dinner speaking was forced to divert away from the Oconee Regional Airport and its closed runway.  The solution for A-G Alan Wilson, according to Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw, was landing at the Anderson airport and taking a helicopter flight to Oconee.  And that’s why Wilson was a tad late last night for a dinner meeting of the Oconee Republican Men.  A rough estimate counted as many as 80-90 men and women gathered at the Lighthouse Event Center.  They mingled during a cash bar social, took seats for dinner, and received greetings from Jose Cabrera, president of Oconee Republican Men.
