Why Duncan was no-show at Trump rally

Made weary by returning flights across the Pacific and the U-S mainland, South Carolina’s 3rd District U-S representative explained why he missed the Donald Trump rally last Saturday in Pickens.  Duncan had gone to Korea and Japan to investigate those countries energy programs, in particular what the Japanese had learned from the disaster years ago at their Fukushima plant. At the start of his address last night to Oconee Republicans, Duncan polled the crowd as to how many in the audience went and found that a few hands acknowledging their strong support for the 45th president. When it comes to who the Laurens Republican will support for his party’s nominee for president next year, Duncan told a reporter he’ll keep neutral as many in the field are his friends.  In particular, he singled out South Carolina’s junior U-S senator, Tim Scott.  During last night’s program, Oconee party boss Jim Mann gave hints that the county party will try to arrange a rally for Scott.
