Why Duncan voted in the minority on defense spending

The House of Representatives in Washington approved an $886 billion defense budget this week by a vote of 310-118.  Among those voting no was South Carolina’s 3rd District member.  Laurens Republican Jeff Duncan released the following statement:  “My constituents did not send me to Washington to vote in favor of taxpayer-funded abortions.  I voted NO on the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) because I’m voting to ensure not $1 tax dollar funds abortions.”
