What to watch for in Walhalla water system

Walhalla Fire Department this month will test and flush more than 200 hydrants in and around the city.  Starting April 12, you will see fire fighters working on hydrants.  The maintenance work identifies problems and ensures that the hydrants spew enough water during fires.  It’s a requirement also  of the ISO — the Insurance Service Office.  During the testing, there could be pressure drops and discolored water through pipes that have not been used recently.  Those conditions are temporary only.  By running water four to five minutes, you can fix the problem.
