What could be in store for the Ravenel Research (CU) Campus

Clemson University’s growing pains have pushed many a student off-campus for lodging; now, it appears, the university’s long-range planning may create education opportunity at university property, among other places, in Oconee County.  The city of Clemson recently responded to a “Conversation with Council” question about satellite campuses to relieve growth pressures in the city.  According to the city, there’s continuing conversation about the following:  “It will be critical for the (new CU strategic) plan to identify strategies to leverage the Innovation Campuses (ICAR in Greenville, CURI in North Charleston), the Research Park in Anderson County, and Ravenel Research Campus (across the lake in Oconee County) to help accommodate the facilities and world-class infrastructure needed to expand the research enterprise.  Research facilities will also be located at the new College of Veterinary Medicine near the intersection of West Queen Street and Starkey Road in Pendleton….”
