Westminster’s next budget

A proposed budget to operate Westminster city government in 2023-24 is ready for the first of two required readings by the city council.  First reading planned for Tuesday, May 9.  For all purposes, it is proposed, the city expenses approach $28.5 million.  “Most notably,” says city administrator Kevin Bronson, is a proposed reduction in the City’s millage rate of 3.5 mills….”  Currently, the rate is 99.3 mills; proposed is raising property tax revenues based on 95.8 mills.  If the council approves, the salaries of the mayor and the council members will increase.  They are now $2,300 for the mayor and $2 thousand for the six council members.  Proposed are mayor’s salary at $12  thousand and council pay at $7,200.
