Weekend crash claims four lives in Anderson County

State troopers continue to investigate one of the Upstate’s deadliest car crashes.  The accident around 6 Saturday evening on highway 81 in Anderson County took the lives of four people and injured three others.  Coroner Greg Shore said three of the deceased victims were trapped in their vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene.  The fourth died hours later in a Greenville hospital.  The dead were identified as four Anderson residents:  William Douglas Larry, 48; James Earl Lovorn, 75; Drew James Visioli, 71; and Peggy Hobbs Visioli, 71.  The coroner disclosed the following account:  “The investigation indicates that the driver of the Ford Expedition was traveling south on Highway 81, crossed the centerline striking the Honda SUV head-on.  The Honda SUV was traveling North on Highway 81.  An 11-year old male victim in the Ford Expedition was transported to Prisma Health by ambulance with moderate injuries.  A 2-year old male with minor injuries and another female with serious injuries were rear seat occupants of Honda SUV and were also transported to Prisma Health.  A K-9 in the Ford Expedition also died at the scene.”
