Weather impacted West Union area, especially

All sections of WGOG land have been impacted by the front that moved in like a prized fighter’s fist to the cheek.  Especially affected this morning was the West Union Fire Department territory.  For those cross-trained responders, the morning started with a tree down in front of Clarios, the former Johnson Controls plant.  A power line fell across SC 11 at Davenport Funeral Home.  SC 11 traffic there was re-routed to Collins Road; however, a tree fell onto Collins Road, requiring a cleanup.  A tree fell on the Taylor Road, north of West Union, creating a power outage. Other trees blew down on Kermit Drive and Creekwood Drive.  At 4:15 this morning, the wind intensified at West Union.  101.7/WGOG NEWS also learned of a brief electric power outage affecting Westminster customers.
