“We got the surge”, says Ian survivor

Cape Coral, Florida resident Danny Ross and family survived Ian, last month’s hurricane that caused loss of life and major property damage along Florida’s Gulf Coast.  The Ross family came out unscathed except for property-incurred damage, but nothing like what struck many of his fellow Floridians have experienced.  Nearly four weeks, later there are still boats everywhere where they should not be.  A veteran now of Florida hurricanes, retiree Ross gave a shout-out today to power workers and other repair crews who are working to bring life back to normal as quickly as possible.  Yet, he admits, life for Fort Myers Beach and many Gulf Coast destinations won’t be returned for quite a while—perhaps not in time for the winter tourism season.
