Walhalla wildfire burned one-half acre

From its station on N. Broad Street, the Walhalla Fire Department spotted a  nearby grass and woods fire.  The fire fighters managed to put a stop to the fire on Moore’s Avenue after one-half of one acre of grass and woods were destroyed.  What happened yesterday is a reminder of the importance for anyone burning property to first alert local or state fire authorities, especially in a rain-less period of time such as that which is being experienced.
