Walhalla rated 3rd safest South Carolina city

A friend of the Walhalla mayor in Columbia has brought to the attention of Danny Edwards that Walhalla, the county seat of Oconee, has been rated 3rd safest city in South Carolina.  The evaluation, covering 2022, was done by an online resource called SafeWise whose employees have had experience as reporters, product testers, safety and compliance officers, homeowners, and community advocates.  Walhalla Mayor Edwards is pleased, and says credit goes to the city police department.  In a rating of the 10 safest South Carolina cities, only Edgefield and Bluffton are considered safer.  Walhalla was one of 5 cities that reported fewer than 10 violent crimes and one of three that reported fewer than 100 property crime incidents.
