Walhalla policeman hurt in the line of duty

A Walhalla policeman injured during a foot chase of a suspect required hospital treatment.  During the chase, according to Chief Tim Rice, an officer jumped a small retaining wall but landed on large nails protruding from a board.  Still, the officer was able to handcuff his suspect.  The individual received tickets charging public disorderly conduct and failing to accompany.  The police were alerted to a person engaged in suspicious activity last Thursday afternoon outside an address on Kenneth Street.  Rice issued the following statement:  “I am proud of the officer for continuing to pursue and detain the suspection after being injured.  His actions show the dedication and determiunation of our officers to keep the City of
