Walhalla in a building slowdown

Walhalla City Council learned last night that the county’s second largest municipality has entered a development slowdown.  The city utilities’ director, Scott Parris, attributes this to “money getting tighter” as the Federal Reserve will announce today whether it will issue another interest rate increase to try to tame inflation.  Parris told the mayor and council that a current lack of interest on the part of local developers in utility taps is telling him that the building boom Walhalla has enjoyed for a couple of years is over.
