Walhalla and West Union car accidents

A Walhalla accident this morning on E. Main Street near Hardee’s involved a small car and a Prisma Health ambulance.  The car driver required a trip to the hospital.  Police Chief Rice quotes accident investigators as saying the car driver failed to yield the right-of-way to the ambulance, as it was on the way to answer a service call.  According to the police, the ambulance displayed emergency lights and sounded its sirens. Near W, Union, on highway 11 at Fowler Road, the fire department responded to a two-car accident that injured one person.  There was an airbag deployment.  Both morning accidents snarled traffic, especially the highway 11 accident which occurred at school opening time.
