Wagner pores over new docket management directive

The preamble from a new State Supreme Court order to the General Sessions courts reads:  “In an efficient criminal justice system, cases should be disposed of within months instead of years, regardless of whether defendants go to trial, plead guilty, enter into a diversion program, or have their cases dismissed.”  In Oconee and Anderson, the directive applies to the office of David Wagner, 10th circuit solicitor.  Wagner tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS he has begun to read through the order, but will need a few days to grasp its ramifications of how criminal cases must be handled starting the effective order date, July 3.
