Voting day for municipal election

Polling places are open 7 am to 7 pm today in all of Oconee’s towns and cities, and any voter in line before 7 tonight will be allowed to vote.  If you are a qualified voter in any of the county’s five towns and cities (and have not voted early or by absentee) you can find your polling place and check your sample ballot at scVOTES.org or by contacting the Oconee Elections office.  Today at the polls voters will be asked to show a current and valid Photo ID.  Acceptable IDs include:  SC Driver’s License; SC Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card; SC Voter Registration Card with Photo; Federal Military ID; and US Passport.  By yesterday the following absentee ballots had been returned:  29 in Seneca and 16 in Walhalla.  For an absentee ballot to count, it must be received by the office of Oconee Elections no later than 7 tonight.
