Volunteer fire station resigned to the invevitable?

After a record-breaking year for medical and fire-related calls, an Oconee County volunteer fire station appears to see the handwriting on the wall as it pertains to future staffing.  Corinth Shiloh Fire Department, in a new solicitation funding letter, says, “Our volunteers are starting to wear thin, our community continues to grow, and while we will always work diligently to be there for your emergency, the time has come for us to pursue a better option. “  That better option is described as that, in addition to being a volunteer station, “having paid fire and medical personnel 24/7 appears to be the best way to serve our community.”
