Victim and accused had prior relationship

The Walhalla police chief has confirmed that both the victim and the accused in last month’s case of homicide on the city’s east side had a prior relationship.  Chief Tim Rice said both the victim, Terrance Boyd of Moore Avenue, and the accused, Hartwell, Georgia resident Lakeisha McLendon, worked together at a local manufacturing plant.  And the chief said the relationship extended outside of work.  A couple of days after the stabbing death of 43-year old Boyd, 27-year old McLendon was arrested on the charge of murder.  Walhalla, the county seat of Oconee, has a population below five thousand.  Homicides inside the corporate limits are rare.
