VFW commander arrested

The new commander of a Lavonia, Georgia VFW post has been arrested.  Lake Hartwell Radio WLHR reports an announcement from the state police that Gabrielle Beutler of Bowersville, Georgia was charged with two felony and one misdemeanor charges.  According to Special GBI agent Jesse Maddox, 31-year old Beutler allegedly changed a U-S Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty Form and presented it to the VFW for association and promotion, a felony.  She is also accused of using false I-D documents to obtain Purple Heart license plates for her vehicle, also a felony, and allegedly presented herself as a veteran, which is a misdemeanor.  Beutler was arrested Tuesday at the Lavonia VFW Post 5897.  She was jailed in the Franklin County Detention Center.
