Utility improvements next month in Clemson neighborhood

General contractor Garrison Construction (Gar-Con), goes to work early next month on water and sewer improvements in the Strawberry Lane area of Clemson.  The work starts January 8 and should take about 12 weeks. A community information meeting will be held at 5:30 pm Thursday, January 4 at city hall to discuss the scope and schedule of the project, as well as answer any questions or concerns.  In 2021, the city of Clemson received $8.7 million from the American Rescue Plan Act, and city council is using most of the money to repair and replace water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm drain lines in six sections of the city.  None of the work will impact utility bills.
